This summer, the Debrecen Zoo organized its summer day experience camp for the 34th time, in which more than 450 people took part in all 8 rounds. With the help of the institution’s zoo teachers, the campers got acquainted with the beauty of the work behind the scenes of the zoo, including the everyday life of the caretakers and the veterinarian, and learned a lot of interesting things about the many special residents, and were introduced to an interpretive and environmentally conscious approach as a coherent system of wildlife – all in a playful and interactive way.
As a novelty this year, the trip to Hortobágy returned to the program after many years, but true to tradition, the game machines of the unique amusement park in the country also ensured that the days spent in the heart of the Big Forest were truly self-forgetful and memorable. The institution is confident that the campers will have a lot of new knowledge and renewed strength for this year’s school year, for which they wish them much success, and will look forward to returning and new zoot camps after next year’s ring.
In the meantime, as an incentive, the zoo is pleased to announce that it will once again reward outstanding students at the end of the 2021/2022 school year, and will provide details of this shortly.
